Council needs new, independent voices from people who are experiencing the same cost-of-living pressures as the residents they represent.
About Me:
I grew up in a working-class, immigrant family. Today, we’re fortunate to spend our weekends restoring a heritage home here in Saanich, growing food in our backyard, and walking our dog along the Gorge Waterway.
Like so many others, I am navigating the realities of today’s economy. We all feel the impact of rising cost of living in different ways: long-time residents see rising property tax and utility bills, while young people wonder if they will ever be able to put down roots here.
I’m a civil engineer, I have a record of results from serving the community, and I’m a working professional building a life here in Saanich. I want to protect the aspects of Saanich we love while keeping our community affordable for everyone, whether you’re just starting out, raising a family, or enjoying the home you’ve lived in for decades.
Most candidates in this election share these goals, but I have the experience and ideas to deliver them.
I’m running on a set of Saanich-specific priorities and ideas, formed through my time serving the community directly and my experience building a life here.
My Priorities:
Value for tax dollars: Prioritize core municipal public services and ensure every tax dollar delivers visible, everyday improvements.
Housing affordability: Increase the diversity of housing options in Saanich. Make it easier to build family-suitable homes with a 10-day permit guarantee for pre-approved designs selected with public input.
Transportation: Proactively make walking, cycling, and transit more reliable, safe, and convenient.
Trees and the environment: Put unspent tree replacement dollars to work, increasing tree canopy coverage as Saanich grows.
Jobs and the local economy: Keep and attract good-paying jobs by protecting employment lands and supporting business growth.
